subhuman

Below human level

Subhuman describes someone or something regarded as less than fully human—inferior in dignity, intelligence, or moral worth.

The term has been used to justify atrocities, dehumanizing groups to make violence against them seem acceptable: Nazi propaganda depicted Jews as subhuman.

It can also describe conditions unfit for human beings: subhuman living conditions.

As a noun, it labels a person so regarded.
