stream bank
Water's earthen border
A stream bank is the sloping ground along either side of a stream, forming the boundary between the water and the surrounding land.
The term appears frequently in environmental contexts—erosion control, habitat restoration, fishing access: We planted willows to stabilize the stream bank.
