stationary front

Stuck air boundary

A stationary front is a weather boundary between two air masses that shows little movement, with neither mass advancing significantly.

Unlike cold or warm fronts, stationary fronts can linger over an area for days, often bringing prolonged cloudiness and precipitation: A stationary front stalled over the region, causing flooding.
