warm front

Heating air mass

A warm front is the boundary where a mass of warm air advances and rises over cooler air ahead of it.

Warm fronts typically bring gradual cloud thickening followed by steady precipitation, then milder temperatures as the front passes.

They move more slowly than cold fronts and produce less dramatic weather changes.

A warm front is expected to bring rain overnight.
