state radio
Official national broadcasting
State radio is a radio broadcasting service owned and operated by a national government.
The term often carries connotations of propaganda or restricted information, particularly when describing authoritarian regimes: State radio announced the coup had failed.
In democratic countries, publicly funded broadcasters like the BBC are rarely called state radio, even when technically government-owned.
