speedwalking

Fast-paced foot travel

Speedwalking is walking as fast as possible without breaking into a run—at least one foot must stay in contact with the ground at all times.

As a competitive sport (racewalking), it has strict form requirements and Olympic events.

Casually, it describes anyone walking with unusual urgency: I was speedwalking through the airport to make my connection.
