Self-shifting gearbox nickname
A slushbox is an automatic transmission, so called because the torque converter uses fluid rather than a direct mechanical connection—the power passes through "slush." The term is mildly disparaging, used by driving enthusiasts who prefer manual transmissions: Real car guys don't drive slushboxes.
