slushiness

Half-melted snow texture

Slushiness is the quality of being slushy—wet, partially melted, and messy.

Snow loses its charm through slushiness, becoming gray mush on city sidewalks.

The word extends to anything excessively sentimental or mawkish: The slushiness of the love scenes made the film unwatchable.
