Sled racing is competitive racing using sleds, typically on snow or ice.
The term covers various disciplines: dog sled racing, where teams of huskies pull a driver across frozen terrain; luge and bobsled, where athletes hurtle down icy tracks at high speeds; and informal downhill races on toboggans or snow sleds.
The Iditarod is Alaska's most famous sled racing event.
