shelf wear
Storage damage signs
Shelf wear is the minor damage books and other items accumulate from sitting on shelves and being handled over time—scuffed corners, faded spines, small creases, light scratches.
The term appears most often in used book listings to indicate cosmetic imperfections that don't affect content: Some shelf wear to covers, otherwise good condition.
