sheep tick

Fleece-dwelling bloodsucker

A sheep tick is a blood-sucking parasite that infests sheep and other livestock, as well as deer and occasionally humans.

The term applies to both true ticks (arachnids) and to keds—wingless flies that resemble ticks.

Sheep ticks can transmit diseases including Lyme disease and tick-borne fever.
