sentence case
Lowercase after first
Sentence case is a capitalization style in which only the first letter of the first word and any proper nouns are capitalized, mimicking ordinary sentence structure.
It contrasts with title case, where most major words are capitalized.
Sentence case is standard for body text and increasingly preferred for headings in digital interfaces and academic writing, where it reads as less formal and more approachable than title case.
