sensitive plant
Leaves fold inward
A sensitive plant is a tropical plant whose leaves fold inward and droop when touched, then reopen after a few minutes.
The term extends to any plant showing similar touch-responsive behavior.
Figuratively, a sensitive plant is a person who is easily offended or emotionally fragile: Don't be such a sensitive plant—it was just a joke.
