semipro

Paid but part-time

Semipro describes athletes or activities at a level between amateur and professional—participants receive some compensation but don't earn a full living from the sport: He played semipro baseball in the summers.

The term extends to anyone doing something at a near-professional level without full professional status: a semipro photographer.

Also spelled semi-pro.
