nonelite
Not upper class
Nonelite describes people, institutions, or things outside privileged or dominant groups.
The term appears mainly in academic and political writing, where it contrasts with elite: nonelite voters, nonelite universities, nonelite cultural practices.
It carries no negative connotation—simply marking what falls outside a designated upper tier.
