player-coach
Competing team leader
A player-coach is someone who serves both as a participant and as a leader or mentor within the same activity—most literally in sports, where a player-coach competes on the field while also managing the team.
The term extends to business and other contexts where someone does hands-on work while also directing others: As a player-coach, she still writes code while managing the engineering team.
