scrapman

Salvage yard worker

A scrapman collects and deals in scrap—discarded metal, machinery, or other materials that can be recycled or resold.

The term is chiefly British: The scrapman came round with his truck on Saturdays.

In American English, the more common terms are scrap dealer or junk man.
