ragpicker
Sells salvaged fabric
A ragpicker is someone who collects rags, discarded clothing, and other salvageable materials from streets and refuse heaps to sell.
The term evokes nineteenth-century urban poverty, when ragpicking was common work for the destitute: The ragpicker pushed his cart through the alley at dawn.
Now largely historical in developed countries.
