Students' time off
School holidays are periods when schools close and students have time off from classes.
In British English, this covers any scheduled break—half-term, Christmas, Easter, or the long summer holiday.
American English more often uses "school vacation" or simply "break" for shorter periods, reserving "summer vacation" for the longest stretch.
