satellite link
Space relay pathway
A satellite link is a communication connection that uses orbiting satellites to relay signals between points on Earth.
The term emphasizes the pathway itself rather than the equipment: The broadcast relied on a satellite link to reach remote villages.
Satellite links enable television transmission, internet access, and military communications where ground infrastructure is unavailable or impractical.
