A sanding belt is a loop of abrasive material designed to fit on a belt sander, used for smoothing wood, metal, or other surfaces.
The continuous loop rotates over two drums, allowing sustained contact with the workpiece.
Belts come in various grits—coarse for rapid material removal, fine for finishing: I need to replace the sanding belt before I can refinish this table.
