safe corridors
Secured transit paths
Safe corridors are designated routes through conflict zones where civilians can travel without being attacked.
During wars or humanitarian crises, opposing forces may agree to suspend hostilities along specific paths to allow evacuation or delivery of aid: The UN negotiated safe corridors for refugees fleeing the city.
Also called humanitarian corridors.
The term implies temporary, fragile protection—corridors exist only as long as all parties honor them.
