kill zones
Fatal engagement sectors
Kill zones are areas where targets are most vulnerable to lethal fire—originally military terminology for the space within an ambush or defensive position where attackers concentrate their firepower.
The term has extended grimly to mass shootings, describing spaces where victims have no escape: The gunman positioned himself to create overlapping kill zones.
In video games, kill zones are tactical areas where players gain advantage over opponents.
