roof lights

Glass in roof

Roof lights are windows set into a roof to admit natural light from above.

They may be flat or domed, fixed or openable for ventilation.

The term overlaps with skylight, though roof light often implies a larger or more utilitarian installation: The warehouse roof lights flooded the space with daylight.

In British usage, roof lights also refers to the illuminated sign atop a taxi.
