electric lights
Wired indoor glow
Electric lights are artificial light sources powered by electricity, as distinguished from candles, oil lamps, or gas fixtures.
The term often evokes a historical moment—the late nineteenth century when electric lighting transformed cities and homes: The theater installed electric lights in 1889.
Today the phrase sounds slightly old-fashioned, since nearly all artificial lighting is now electric.
