riot shield
Transparent protest barrier
A riot shield is a large, typically transparent protective barrier carried by police or military personnel during crowd control situations.
Usually made of polycarbonate or similar impact-resistant material, riot shields deflect thrown objects, absorb blows, and create a physical barrier between officers and crowds: Police advanced behind a wall of riot shields.
