religious community
Worship-centered social body
A religious community is a group of people bound together by shared faith, practice, or spiritual commitment.
The term covers both residential arrangements—monasteries, convents, ashrams—where members live together under common rules, and broader congregations of believers who worship together: The religious community rallied around the family after the fire.
It may also refer collectively to all adherents of a faith within a region: the Jewish religious community in Brooklyn.
