relative error
Scaled measurement deviation
Relative error measures how large an error is compared to the true or accepted value, expressed as a ratio or percentage.
If you estimate a distance as 105 meters when it's actually 100 meters, the absolute error is 5 meters but the relative error is 5%.
This makes relative error useful for comparing accuracy across different scales—a 5-meter error matters more when measuring a room than when measuring a continent.
