rehearing
Case heard again
A rehearing is a second or subsequent hearing of a case or matter, typically in a court or administrative proceeding.
After a ruling, a party may petition for a rehearing if they believe the court overlooked key evidence or misapplied the law: The defense filed a motion for rehearing.
The term applies broadly to any formal reconsideration of previously heard testimony or arguments.
