final order
Ultimate directive given
A final order is a court ruling that conclusively resolves a case or legal matter, leaving nothing further for the court to decide.
Unlike preliminary or interlocutory orders, a final order can be appealed: The judge issued a final order dismissing the lawsuit.
In administrative law, final orders from agencies mark the end of formal proceedings and trigger deadlines for judicial review.
