regressor
Model predicting outcomes
A regressor is a variable used to predict or explain another variable in statistical analysis—the input rather than the output.
In machine learning, regressor also names a model or algorithm that predicts continuous values: The random forest regressor outperformed the linear model.
The term comes from regression analysis, where regressors are the independent variables in an equation.
