regrading

Changing the grade

Regrading is the process of reshaping or leveling land, typically to improve drainage, prepare for construction, or prevent erosion: The contractor is regrading the lot before we pour the foundation.

In education, regrading means reassessing work to assign a different grade: Students requested regrading of the midterm exam.
