recollapsing

Caving in twice

Recollapsing is collapsing again after a previous collapse or after being restored.

The term appears in physics and cosmology for models where the universe expands and then contracts back on itself: a recollapsing universe.

More generally, anything that has fallen apart, been rebuilt, and falls apart again is recollapsing: The peace deal is recollapsing.
