rechrome
Restore metallic finish
To rechrome is to apply a fresh layer of chrome plating to something, typically metal that has become pitted, corroded, or dull: We had the bumpers rechromed before the car show.
The process involves stripping the old chrome and replating the surface, common for restoring vintage automobiles and motorcycles.
