reading order
Text navigation direction
Reading order is the sequence in which text or elements are meant to be read.
In English and most Western languages, this means left to right, top to bottom.
The term appears frequently in discussions of document accessibility, where screen readers must follow the correct reading order to make sense of a page: The PDF's reading order was scrambled, so the screen reader jumped between columns randomly.
