Plantable, not toasted
Raw seeds are seeds that haven't been roasted, toasted, or otherwise heat-treated.
The term distinguishes uncooked seeds sold for eating—sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds—from their roasted counterparts: I prefer raw seeds in my salad for the softer texture.
Raw seeds retain more nutrients but lack the toasted flavor many prefer.
