rail-trail

Converted railway path

A rail-trail is a recreational path built on a former railroad corridor.

When rail lines are abandoned, the graded route—often flat and scenic—converts well to trails for walking, cycling, and sometimes horseback riding.

The old B&O line is now a popular rail-trail connecting three towns.
