push alert
Automatic app message
A push alert is a notification sent directly to a device—typically a smartphone—without the user requesting it.
Apps use push alerts to deliver breaking news, messages, reminders, or updates: I got a push alert about the earthquake.
The "push" distinguishes it from "pull" systems where users actively check for new information.
