punters
Those who wager
Punters are people who gamble, especially on horse races or football matches—primarily British usage.
More broadly, a punter is any ordinary customer or member of the public: The pub was full of punters.
In American football, a punter is the player who kicks the ball to the opposing team.
The word carries a casual, slightly dismissive tone when referring to customers: just another punter.
