protests
Rallies against something
Protests are public expressions of objection or disapproval, typically through demonstrations, marches, or organized gatherings: Protests erupted across the city after the verdict.
The verb protest means to object or demonstrate against something: They protested the new policy.
Curiously, to protest can also mean to affirm emphatically: She protested her innocence.
A formal protest is an official objection, as when a team protests a referee's call.
