prostatectomy
Male organ excision
Prostatectomy is the surgical removal of all or part of the prostate gland, typically performed to treat prostate cancer or severe enlargement.
A radical prostatectomy removes the entire gland along with surrounding tissue; a simple prostatectomy removes only the obstructing portion.
His doctor recommended a prostatectomy after the biopsy results came back.
