pronouncer
Spelling bee official
A pronouncer is someone who pronounces something—most often the official at a spelling bee who says the words for contestants to spell.
The pronouncer may also provide the word's definition, language of origin, and use it in a sentence.
Outside spelling bees, pronouncer occasionally describes anyone who articulates or declares something: the pronouncer of judgments, the pronouncer of difficult names.
