potlikker

Southern cooking liquid

Potlikker is the broth left in the pot after cooking greens—collards, turnip greens, or similar vegetables—typically with pork.

A staple of Southern American cooking, it's rich in nutrients and flavor, traditionally sopped up with cornbread: Save me some of that potlikker.

Also spelled pot liquor.
