licker

One who tastes

A licker is someone or something that licks.

The word appears most often in compounds: boot-licker, ass-licker, carpet-licker—all disparaging terms for sycophants or, in the last case, a slur for lesbians.

Stamp-licker and envelope-licker describe tedious clerical work.

On its own, licker usually describes an animal: The dog's a real face-licker.
