pomato
Grafted vegetable hybrid
A pomato is a hybrid plant created by grafting a tomato plant onto potato rootstock, allowing both crops to be harvested from a single plant—tomatoes above ground, potatoes below.
The portmanteau combines *potato* and *tomato*.
Sometimes called a tomtato.
The plants are grafted, not genetically modified, since tomatoes and potatoes are related nightshades.
