cronut

Fried laminated pastry

A cronut is a pastry that combines a croissant and a doughnut—laminated dough shaped into a ring, fried, and typically filled with cream and topped with glaze.

Created by pastry chef Dominique Ansel in 2013, it sparked long lines at his New York bakery and countless imitations.
