pluckings

Guitar string pulls

Pluckings are things that have been plucked—feathers removed from birds, hairs pulled from skin, strings that have been picked.

The word appears most often in contexts of harvesting or grooming: the pluckings from a dozen chickens, eyebrow pluckings scattered on the counter.

Less commonly, pluckings can mean selections or choices, from the sense of pluck as picking out.
