pigeon fanciers
Bird breeding hobbyists
Pigeon fanciers are people who breed, raise, or keep pigeons as a hobby or sport.
The term covers those who race homing pigeons, exhibit ornamental breeds, or simply keep them as pets.
Fancier here carries its older sense of enthusiast or devotee: The pigeon fanciers gathered at dawn to release their birds.
