pickings

What's left over

Pickings are things available to be taken or chosen, especially what remains after others have had first choice.

The word almost always appears with a modifier: slim pickings means little is available; easy pickings means something can be taken with little effort or resistance.

Rich pickings suggests abundant rewards: The unlocked cars were rich pickings for thieves.
