Pesto pasta is pasta dressed with pesto—a sauce of crushed basil, garlic, pine nuts, Parmesan cheese, and olive oil.
The dish is simple and quick, often a weeknight staple: I threw together some pesto pasta for dinner.
While traditional pesto is Genovese, variations using arugula, sun-dried tomatoes, or other ingredients appear on the same pasta.
